They likely were the family who immigrated via Liverpool, England
on the Effingham to New Orleans, LA and arrived the 10 Nov. 1848.7 If so, they had a son
older than Sarah (who was listed as Sarah Anne), James, age 9 (b. about 1839).
This family likely moved via the Mississippi River
north to Pike Co., Illinois, where they are likely the family listed in the
1850 census8 and in the 1850 Agricultural Census with 640 acres of
land.14
Robert may have stayed in the state and been listed as insane in
the 1860 census in East Galena, Jo Daviess Co., IL.15 There was a JoDaviess County Almshouse there for many years, starting
with a poor farm in about 1850.10 James appears to have stayed in
Pike County as a laborer that year9 before fighting in the Civil War
for three years in Co. D, 2nd Illinois Light Artillery and then
settling first in Iroquois Co., IL and the Pomona, Los Angeles County, CA,
where he died. It is not known when or where Robert died.
Sarah and Thomas Fallon paid a bond of $200 the 22 of October 1805
(sic 1855), were licensed to wed 29 October 1855 and were married 1 Nov 1855
all in Rankin Co., MS.2 Thomas died before 1860.3

Sarah was living on her own in 1860 with her two children by
Robert Montgomery and her daughter by Thomas Fallon, next door to her daughter
Sarahs future husband (Andrew) and his family (James J Prewet).3
She was living with just one daughter (likely Margaret) by 1866,6 next
door to her son Robert and likely son-in-law by this time, Andrew Prewett (sp). In 1870, she lived with her daughter by Thomas Fallon,
an Elizabeth Crawley, who was possibly a niece given the last name, and next
door to her two children, who had both married.4
Sarah lived with her eldest daughter, Sarah Pruitt5
until she died on 14 Oct 1898. She is buried in Braxton Cemetery, Braxton,
Simpson County, Mississippi.19
