Robert MONTGOMERY was born 5 June 1846⁴ in Ireland, the son of Robert MONTGOMERY, Sr. and Sarah CRAWLEY (who later married Thomas FALLON 22 Oct 1855¹⁴)¹. He emigrated in 1847⁴/1848²³ and became a naturalized citizen⁴. He was living on his own in 1866 next to his mother (and stepsister), and married sister.²²

Robert married Mary A Kate (Arcada²¹/Arkatie²⁰) UNKNOWN (perhaps CHANDLER)²¹, (b. 12 Nov. 1851¹⁰/1850¹¹/Dec 1850⁴) parents unknown, 16 Jan 1868¹⁰, probably in MS. He was a farmer¹^-4.

Robert and Mary had 8 children. One died before 1900. Two died before 1910.

Robert died 11 Jun 1924 in Simpson Co., MS^9,11. Mary (and Lillah) went to live with her son F.L.⁷ Mary died April 10, 1931^10,11,20 in Braxton, Simpson County, MS and is buried in Braxton Cemetery, Simpson County, MS¹⁰. In 1940⁸ and 1950¹³, Lillah lived with her sister Mary Della.
